Intermediate successes. They were Bob,
2E0LRP, Roy, 2E0DNH and Pete, 2E0FCU.
The instructors were Brian, G3VGZ and Tony,
G3MAE.
Wearside EARS
celebrated with David,
M6JJA on gaining his 2E0ODB callsign. He
received his certificate from Ray, 2E0ERD
who invigilated his exam. Congratulations
from all the members and good luck with the
Advanced.
Following the recent devastating floods in
the Calder Valley, the normal meeting place
for
Halifax and District ARS
, the Church of
the Good Shepherd, will be out of action for
the foreseeable future. Thankfully they have
found a temporary venue for weekly meetings
at New Ebenezer Methodist Church, St James
Road, Halifax HX1 1YS. Entry is via the front
door; if it is locked please knock. Meetings
will take place from 7pm as normal.
After presiding and preaching at the morning service at St Hilda’s Church, Hartlepool in November, The
Bishop of Durham, The Right Revd Paul Butler, visited GB5SH, which had been set up to give publicity
to the annual festival in honour of St Hilda. The Bishop is seen speaking to M0PAR in Malvern, with
G8DST operating and G3NUA watching. Using 40 and 2m, contact was made with some 140 stations
in the UK, Belgium and Holland.
On 6 December, the Region 4 team were in attendance at the Bishop Auckland Rally. In the photo are Ian, G7MFN (DRM 41) and Oliver, M6EUB, the Stem
Strategy Manager of the Youth committee. A very large bag of Pontefract cakes was provided by Nigel, G0BPK (RM 4)!

Midland ARS celebrated with a Christmas
party held in early December. The grand
buffet was enjoyed by all.
region 7: south wales
Llanelli ARS
would like to congratulate
the candidates who recently passed their
Intermediate exam, and wish them well for
their Advanced training. Allan, 2W0DQT,
Laurie, 2W0GYB and David, 2W0SRD.
At a recent Zone 8 meeting for RAYNET in Wales, Zone coordinator Dave, MW0RUH (pictured right)
presented Deputy Group Controller for Pembrokeshire Peter, GW4OZU an award for 35 years of service.
Other members reaching milestones within the organisation will be presented their certificates at their
local meetings in due course.
