EVENTS ROUNDUP
region 3: north west
At the recent AGM, Furness ARS elected a
new committee: Chris, M0TES (Chair), Chris,
M0KPW (Secretary), Martyn, M0TEB (Treasurer)
Jim, M0KLY, Clive, 2E0EVD and Mike, G8ALE.
Dave, G3VUS and Ivan, G3IZD stood down after
many years of service and the committee will
miss their expertise. Dave has worked tirelessly
behind the scenes organising special events,
Foundation / Intermediate courses and mentoring
newcomers. Ivan has been a driving force behind
club contests and special events. The club would
like to thank them for all their hard work over
the years. Both remain club members and will
continue to take an activate role.
The Rochdale Traditional Rally took place in
November and was very well attended as always.
There was a wide variety of traders and
the club was pleased that LAMCO could attend
again. Rochdale & DARS would like to thank the
traders, fellow amateurs and members of the
public helped to make the event a success.
Southport & DARS started 8-week Foundation
course starting on 25 January. There will be
a much deeper level of instruction and more
frequent practical sessions to assist candidates
through the training. For further details (or to
sign up for the course if you’re quick enough)
please visit
http://tinyurl.com/sadarcfound2016A recent Intermediate course resulted in 100%
success rate, with candidates now waiting for
their 2E0 callsigns. Left to right are Dorian
Wiskow, Roy Morgan, Stuart, G0MJG (lead
instructor), Chris, 2E0XJP (instructor), Brian
Woods, Steve Milner.
Next deadline 21 January
