SOTABEAMS
SOTABEAMS has
introduced a range of
SMA adapter leads. The
range is SMA-SMA, SMA-BNC
(male), SMA-BNC (female)
and SMA-PL259 (UHF plug).
SMA plugs can be tricky to
fit and in many applications
an adapter can place unwanted
strain on SMA sockets so SOTABEAMS hopes
these leads will prove both useful and
popular.
A new patch lead has also been added.
It has an RCA plug on one end and a BNC
plug on the other. It is made of RG174
coaxial cable and the connectors are sealed
onto the cable for improved water resistance.
SOTABEAMS has also expanded their range
of Powerpole connectors. There are now 15 amp,
30 amp and 45 amp connectors in addition to their
range of other Powerpole products. They also stock the
individual contacts, which are useful as spares.

Bluetooth-enabled network analyser
The MetroVna Pro covers 1 to 180MHz and measures SWR, R, Z, | X |,
RL and TL. Results can be displayed one at a time or simultaneously on a
large 3.1in colour display, or smartphone/ laptop. The Metrovna can be also
be used for the measurement of filters, attenuators or other more complex
networks.
Using a special function you can view SWR simultaneously on as many as
6 chosen bands and also set the exact frequencies of interest. This menu is
very useful for the development of multiband antennas and dipoles.
Powered by an internal Li-Ion battery and with Bluetooth communication
it is possible to take measurements by the antenna but monitor them
comfortably on a laptop or smartphone remotely within about 5 metres range.
The MetroVna is compatible with the best software and runs on all platforms
allowing the export of data to Excel, PDF and other
formats. Using
the USB socket it is possible to
interface the instrument to a PC
and simultaneously charge the
internal battery (included).
